The results are healthy plants with crop yields far superior in size and volume over those planted in soil.
Hydroponic gardening is the method of growing plants in a nutrient solution without soil. Soil provides a source of water, nutrient, air, and physical support. With hydroponics these functions are accomplished by using a variety of soil substitutes. Those can be gravel, sand, sawdust, vermiculite, wood chips, polyethylene sheeting or styro-foam.
